Fiest of Sr. St. Nino

My long been overdue pictures of St. Nino's fiesta in Balingasag.
Lots and lots of people came to gather and celebrate.
And they even have with them a replica of their own little Ninos too!
This is what the outside of the Balingasag church looks like. You can see a lot of balloon vendors and kids like it so much...there's spidey and dora in there too.

Confusion

I have not posted my daily gratitude in two days now. I have been harassed, confuse and sick at the same time. Gah i really dont know what is going on with myself anymore. I have no control. It freaks me out. Confusion is staring at me squarely. God i need help so bad. And a lot of prayers. I hate it when i cant understand myself. Im so empty right now and at the same time full of shit..oops sorry.  But today is an early morning and i have always believed that mornings are wonderful gift of God. A new sheet of paper where you can just forget all the yesterdays mistakes! I am in the kitchen right now and mom is cooking, auntie Eva cleaning and dad just gotten out of the comfort room fresh after a bath. The weather is really good and i can hear a lot of chicken shouting their usual tiktilaok. I am here sitting and typing. I dont like it when im sick. Somehow there is some notion in me that when you are sick your soul is sick also. Gah talk about perfection and holiness. Im so tired already. I just want God to hold and comfort me now. To not say anything but hold me. I want Him to cleanse and purify me. To let me know that it is alright. Yes that everything is all right. That somehow ill come out of this, whatever it is, renewed. It is my desire to please God and when you cant do that it does something with your soul. You get depressed and ugly. I dont want to be ugly. :P I want to be beautiful and radiant. The kind of beauty where God resides. Dah i know that is impossible to reach. But what do you know? God can make everything possible. And me? i somehow believe in the impossible. This has been going on for a week now and i hope tomorrow ill get better. And if you are confuse what in the heavens i am talking about in here, that is basically my problem dear. Confusion without identifiable reason or a lot of reasons its hard to name them all. But for now my family is in the dining room eating and talking already and everything is just normal...I will join them now.

And by the way if somehow you know what this is thing called about...you can share your thoughts and tell me how to get cured.

Little Altars Everywhere

Little Altars Everywhere is a national best-seller, a companion to Rebecca Wells' celebrated novel Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood. Originally published in 1992, Little Altars introduces Sidda, Vivi, the rest of the spirited Walker clan, and the indomitable Ya-Yas.

"We are swinging high flying way up, higher than in real life. And when I look down, I see all the ordinary stuff — our brick house, the porch the tool shed, the oil drum barbecue pit, the clothesline, the chinaberry tree. But they are all lit up from inside so their everyday selves have holy sparks in them, and if only people could see those sparks, they'd go and kneel in front of them and pray and just feel good. Somehow the whole world looks like little altars everywhere."
 ---
"You can't go anywhere with Mama without things getting nuts. If it's going along too smooth she will invent something just to stir things up. Sometimes we'll be downtown shopping and everything's going normal, and Mama will put her fingers in her mouth and let out the loudest, most piercing whistle you ever heard in your life. Then everyone gets startled and drops what they're doing and looks around to see where the noise came from. And Mama, she'll just bend over and pretend to be looking at a pair of shoes."

Favorite Quotes:
"Sometimes you just have to reach out and grab what you want, even when they tell you not to. This is something that I've struggled with my whole life long."

"Listen to me, Siddalee, and listen good: There is no excuse to let your looks go, no matter how poor you are. Cleanliness is next to Godliness, but honey let me tell you, ugliness will get you nowhere."

"It’s life. You don’t figure it out. You just climb up on the beast and ride."
My Take:
Reading Little Altars Everywhere is fun fun fun! It kind of gets so sad sometimes i have to stop. This book is about Sidda and all the Walker family including the Ya-Ya's told in alternating voices . I like how i can just relate to it. Even though the book is set in Louisiana it felt like the Walker family is my second door neighbor family when i was still growing up in Camiguin Island. A lot of fighting and shouting but in the end you can see how much everyone loves everyone. There are so many "aw" moments in there for me. Sometimes i am so much touched i felt like crying. But a lot of times you cannot help but laugh. Crazy crazy people. The book is wonderfully told and it is written in easy simple English which i like.
Ratings: 8/10

Speed Reading

A writer only begins a book. A reader finishes it.
~ Samuel Johnson

---

Yay im finally done with my book Little Altars Everywhere by Rebecca Wells. It took me two months to read it! I keep putting it off. So now its officially over. yehey! How in the world did a 200+ pages book took me so long to finish it? Got to do something about it. Yes, Speed Reading! Oh no im at it again. I had an audio for that a 10 Minute CD by Paul Scheele. I downloaded it a long time ago. I have to listen to it again today. Felt the need to. So here's a rough draft from what i have learned from it.

Double Your Reading Speed in 10 Minutes

1. Physical Posture- sit properly with your feet on the ground. Extend your spine and put a gentle smile on the corners of your lips and eyes.(i love this part, the smile thing)
2.Mental Posture- set your mind for success. Look for meaning in what you read. Or set your mind whatever you want to achieve in reading the book.
3.Visualization- its about the tangerine thing. Touching it and feeling it. Imagining the tangerine floating just above and at the back of your head. I dont know about this but it is supposed to widen your visuals. :P
4. Reading Technique- you dont have to read the book word for word. Just learn to glide your eyes over the words. Look for phrases and sentences. Look for meaning. (This one needs a lot of practicing for your eyes and brain to adjust)

My reading skills did improved after doing it. But its a kind of thing where you really have to practice it so as not to go back to your old ways. Because in my case  i had done it before but forgot to put it into practice so im back to zero. Got to remember to do it every time i read something. Or if your like me i just want to remember to sit properly every time there is something needs reading or when im with the computer or when im just plain sitting.

Things Im grateful for today Feb 23, 2011
1. Done reading Little Altars Everywhere(i learned something from it and there are so many "Aw" moments for me in it). Im so glad. Thank you Lord.
2. My heart is not feeling so happy today and i dont know why. But i am still glad i get to live life. ehehe Caught myself praying Lord make me happy today.
3. Mom cooking for us. It's dinugoan! Thank you Lord for my mom.
4. Having time to write the things im grateful for today.
5. Almost followed my schedule i made for today(i kind of slept through the other parts). But hey! Almost-its an accomplishment already. So.
6. Downloading Burlesque soundtrack now. :P Happy.
7.Watching Maria Aragon on The Ellen Degeneress Show. Such an inspiration. Oh if only i can sing like her and play the piano too. Gaga went gaga over her. But im Born This Way and I am intent on rejoicing and loving myself today and forevermore because i am born this way and beautiful in my own way too coz God makes no mistakes(i want to sing now). A born superstar! Still need to find my place though.

Bound to You

By: Christina Aguilera

 Sweet love, sweet love
Trapped in your love
I've opened up, unsure I can trust
My heart and I were buried in dust
Free me, free us

You're all I need when I'm holding you tight
If you walk away I will suffer tonight

I found a man I can trust
And boy, I believe in us
I am terrified to love for the first time
Can you see that I'm bound in chains
I finally found my way
I am bound to you
I am bound to you

So much, so young
I've faced on my own
Walls I built up became my home
I'm strong and I'm sure there's a fire in us
Sweet love, so pure

I catch my breath with just one beating heart
And I brace myself, please don't tear this apart

I found a man I can trust

And boy, I believe in us
I am terrified to love for the first time
Can't you see that I'm bound in chains
I finally found my way
I am bound to you
I am bound to

Suddenly the moment's here
I embrace my fears
All that I have been carrying all these years
Do I risk it all
Come this far just to fall, fall

Oh, I can trust
And boy, I believe in us
I am terrified to love for the first time
Can you see that I'm bound in chains
And finally found my way
I am bound to you

I am,
Ooh, I am
I'm bound to you

note: I dont know but when Christina sang this one on Burlesque i felt what the song was meant about. Her eyes then was so beautiful and soulful and her voice was beautiful. She became music. I love this song because somehow i can relate myself to it and i dont understand why.

WaterColor week2

The flow of water and paint can be uncontrollable and crazy,
but it is also freedom, an escape, therapy, joy, and, oh yes, very sensuous!

Yes Im still at it. :P
take a closer look...

I got bored so decided to have a model...
my first take...

details are so painful to draw...i dont know what im thinking here ...
take a look at my second take...
ahahah i know that's too small... but i love how my pot has improved so much in here. weeee
okay here's a closer look...
that little trunks it has intertwining with each other is so hard to copy so as with the leaves. I have to start with the basic i guess so i can really track my progress and will be able to paint that properly but i have to find books or a site or perhaps someone to teach me all the basics ...hmmm and also for now all my paintings are real i mean i cannot get myself to draw from my imagination so i think i have to be content with that yet...i dont mind copying also...so that's it..next week again.

note: This would be my daily gratitude. Today im grateful for this. :P
and for my new header(it is so much better now i think :)

Ate Queenie and Riemar's Wedding

" Love starts with a smile"
 -

Things Im grateful for Feb 19 2011

1. Attended my cousin's wedding Queenie and Riemar. I cried when i saw her get off the car and started walking the Church aisle . I dont know what it is about wedding that makes me cry. I guess it's the separation part. The thought of your loved ones not at home anymore. You know spending lazy hours together and watching tv or just plain laying in bed and talking for hours and hours or eating meals together as family. My mom said she cried when Daddy Sam kissed ate Queenie. Aw. Wedding indeed is a joyful celebration of love and union and also of freedom, of independence and of letting go. It's a new and beautiful chapter of one's life.
2.During the mass I asked God what is love and to teach me how to love(i haven't fallen inlove so i thought he could teach me a thing or two). And did you know i got an answer immediately. This is what He said in a flash. "Love starts with a smile." Aw. I think God must have been smiling down on all of us in heaven above for he has continued to love us till now. So love starts with a smile. hmmmm i will for certain use that tool. ahaha.(When i see you smile lugar) Thank you Lord. How sweet of you to answer me. :P
3.So grateful and happy taking pictures with my siblings and cousins! They're got a booth for taking pictures in the wedding reception held at Pearlmont called snapinabox and we surely did not miss the opportunity to have ourselves taken! This one thing i realized Filipinos love, love to take pictures of themselves!
4. Daryl passing the Nursing Board Exam! Yehey. I was so happy i cried again this day! Now we have two nurses in the family...wow! Thank you Lord for letting Daryl pass the board exam. Thank you so much!
5. Went to The Avenue for the after wedding party. Got ourselves Cali and coke and french fries and Calamares while all the rest were having Red Horse and Tanduay Ice. wew  My sister was laughing after looking at the difference ahahaha.
6. Im so grateful for Mommy and Daddy for driving us cousins in the after wedding party.

My Yellow Header

 before
After :P

Yay! Look at that! So i really wanted so badly to have something yellow on my blog. :P My first header kind of makes me sad(i dont pretty much like dry colors) so i decided to do something with it but please dont ask me how much time i spent just to figure how to do that one out. You know a lot of people may not like yellow but hey it perks me up. Yellow makes me happy and alive so here it is my header with something yellow! yes i did it! i did it hurray! :) IM SO GRATEFUL! yes time well spent! Today February 18 2011 im just grateful for one thing and that is my blog. ahahah i did not do any other thing today but face the computer and work on my blog. So pretty much of my whole day was spent online. :P

Just in case you want to know just how i did that thing up there, well, i used my paint application program. Pretty simple huh? Im using Windows 7 Ultimate so the program is so much better than the outdated ones. Its kind of like the Photoshop but much simple and easier to use. Did you know that i just used one tool just to do that? Amazing huh? Yes and that's the filler tool. :P

My Personality Test - Sensitive Doer

Okay so LJ and Cha took the personality test on www.ipersonic.com interesting! LJ is an Engaged Idealist while Cha is a Social Realists well me? Im a Sensitive Doer. :P Interesting!
Here is what a Sensitve Doer is like:

Sensitive Doers are gentle, modest and reserved persons. They cope well with everyday life and like their privacy. With their quiet, optimistic nature, they are also good, sought-after listeners and other people feel well in their company. All in all, this type is the most likeable and friendliest of all personality types. Tolerance and heir regard for others distinguish their personality. They are very caring, generous and always willing to help. They are open to and interested in everything that is new or unknown to them. However, if their inner value system or their sense of justice is hurt, Sensitive Doers can suddenly and surprisingly become forceful and assertive.

Sensitive Doers enjoy the comforts life offers to the full. They are very happy in everyday life. Sensitive Doers are often gifted artists or very good craftsmen. Creativity, imagination and an especially keen perception are just a few of their strong points. Sensitive Doers are very presence-oriented; long-term planning and preparations do not appeal to them. They take life as it comes and react flexibly to daily demands. They do not like too much routine and predictability. Their talents come more to the fore when work processes are variable and there are not so many rules. Sensitive Doers like to work alone; if they are part of a team, they do not get involved in competitive or power games and prefer living and working together harmoniously and openly.

Sensitive Doers are completely satisfied with a small, close circle of friends as their need for social contacts is not very marked. Here, too, they avoid conflicts - quarrels and disputes put considerable strain on them. Sensitive Doers are often very fond of animals and are very good with small children. As partner, this type is loyal and reliable and is willing to invest a lot in a relationship. Mutual respect and tolerance are very important to Sensitive Doers. Their love of pleasure makes them a pleasant companion with whom one can experience intensive moments. They like to look after their partner with attentiveness and small gifts and are very sensitive to the partner’s needs - often more than to their own. However, should they meet the wrong person, they run the risk of being taken advantage of. They are then deeply disappointed.

Adjectives which describe your type: introverted, practical, emotional, spontaneous, sensitive, peace-loving, reserved, gentle, good-natured, independent, empathetic, friendly, playful, carefree, sympathetic, relaxed, quiet, modest, pleasure-loving, loyal, obliging, caring, helpful, optimistic

Note: A lot of these things resonates with me and some of them are "me" on the past. I think i am on a stretch "not here almost there" - I cant believe i am now somewhere in between. Ahahaha.

Sensitive Doer: Career

Your type, although belonging to the introverted doers, is also the most amiable and friendly in his dealings with others of all types. This special combination is the reason for your great flexibility. It enables you to work excellently and contently on your own to suit any situation, but also achieve extraordinary popularity and professional satisfaction as a member of a team. Here the precondition is a friendly, collegiate environment characterized by harmony and mutual respect.

You need a working environment without intrigue or political manipulation, and with the least possible deployment of elbows. Cooperation rather than confrontation, should be the order of the day. Colleagues as well as superiors equally appreciate your unassuming, congenial nature and your unbelievable sensitivity plus your attentive and generous ways toward others. In your presence, people simply have to be comfortable; you are not competition oriented, whatsoever.

You are almost limitlessly tolerant and always prepared to accept others as they are. As a consequence, you very rarely have problems getting along with different people. The only exception: when your private value system is hurt or you notice injustice somewhere. In that case, you can react quite forcefully but even in the most heated dispute you always try to argue respectfully and fairly.

Therefore it is very important that your work is compatible with your (high) values and ideals. In the long term, it is not satisfactory to just do any job with the sole objective of finding money in your account at the end of the month. You need the feeling of being able to totally identify yourself with your job, and to fully support whatever it is that you do every day. Ideally, your usually more practically- than theoretically-oriented activity provides you with tangible results. Then you can walk home at night feeling that you made the world just a little bit better than it had been in the morning - preferably for another human being.

Another important element is your wish to grow through your activities and to learn something new every day. You want to be challenged not just in your professional capacity, but also as an entire human being. Appreciation by others is not entirely unimportant to you. In spite of all your mental independence, you appreciate receiving positive feedback. Therefore, make sure that your work environment provides regular feedback that will continuously acknowledge your qualities. If these conditions are met, you will be a perfectly loyal and usually above-average engaged collaborator who is totally dedicated to his job and often able to deliver spectacular performances.

Note: A lot of them are really true for me especially the "you are not competition oriented, whatsoever."

Sensitive Doer: Love

Due to your quiet nature, you don’t fall in love head over heels - but once you do, it happens intensively and fiercely. You have a pronounced romantic disposition and once you truly catch the bug, you insist on putting your beloved in the center of your universe. Like the Idealists, you are an all or nothing type, in this respect. Despite your love of freedom, you are the most faithful and devoted of all the Doers.

You are capable of deep feelings, and you throw yourself into a relationship with all you’ve got. You care for, spoil, and support your partner wherever you can - sometimes even at the cost of your own needs. You are devoted to doing everything for your beloved to the point that you may not realize for a long time that you are getting the short end of the stick. If you feel that you can do him/her a favor, you gladly deep-six everything that is important to you: friends, place of residence, or job. As long as you choose a partner who appreciates this trait, and most importantly, who does not take advantage of it, it is just great. It gets extremely dangerous, however, if you end up with an egoist. In dealing with your contemporaries, you are sometimes a little too trusting because you always assume the same high morals and character trends that are yours. In certain ways, that makes you very vulnerable and that applies to love, as well.

Your pronounced sensitivity (also a part of your personality type description) makes you a very attentive, empathetic, and loving partner. You won‘t miss a mood change in your heart of hearts, and have a damned sensitive ear for hidden appeals. You like it that way because excessive love pledges are not your style, and you don’t continuously carry your heart on your sleeve. You prefer to demonstrate how much your partner means to you with deeds, and by reading his/her wish in his/her eyes.

Note: Scary hahaha  but i am indeed the  "all or nothing type" when it comes to love.

Ipod Touch and Tilted Tees on Tilteed.com

Hey hey hey! Exciting things going on tilteed.com. If you want to win 8GB IPod Touch & two Tilteed Tees come and join the contest! :P

And now for my entry i picked this one design as my favorite tilted tee. Tsadang!
cutest thing don't you think?
yay! that's a STOP OR MY WHALE WILL SHOOT tee. Amusingly ridiculous by its name alone :)
This three colors on a silver American Apparel tilteed shirt is designed by Jublin. He said the design was inspired from playing around with the idea of a killer whale pun and thinking about boys in blue cops. I wonder what he was doing that time, just look at how it turned out! With Art T-Shirts you can certainly let your imagination go swimming the vast ocean of possibilities...

I like this tee because when i first saw it i thought "this one right here is so gentle" the colors and the feel of it struck me as gentleness not until i clicked and saw clearly the image...
that little cop hat right there is worth a million! not to mention the look on his face!
I need not say more, but with a chuckle and a smile on my face-I love this crazy tee!
