MOON FOLLY read to you by Tabulyogang

If you allow me, I would like to read you a poem. Because having someone read to me does me good. So i hope my reading to you will do you good too. This is my very first time so i hope you'll make allowances for all my mistakes; unnecessary noises and pronunciation included ;) but most of all i want you to enjoy.

MOON FOLLY
By Fannie Stearns Davis

I WILL go up the mountain after the Moon
She is caught in a dead fir-tree.
Like a great pale apple of silver and pearl,
Like a great pale apple is she.
I will leap and will clasp her in quick cold hands
And carry her home in my sack.
I will set her down safe on the oaken bench
That stands at the chimney-back.
And then I will sit by the fire all night,
And sit by the fire all day.
I will gnaw at the Moon to my heart’s delight,
Till I gnaw her slowly away.
And while I grow mad with the Moon’s cold taste,
The World may beat on my door,
Crying “Come out!” and crying “Make haste!
And give us the Moon once more!”
But I will not answer them ever at all;
I will laugh, as I count and hide
The great black beautiful seeds of the Moon
In a flower-pot deep and wide.
Then I will lie down and go fast asleep,
Drunken with flame and aswoon.
But the seeds will sprout,
and the seeds will leap:
The subtle swift seeds of the Moon.
And some day, all of the world that beats
And cries at my door, shall see
A thousand moon-leaves sprout from my thatch
On a wonderful white Moon-tree!
Then each shall have moons to his heart’s desire:
Apples of silver and pearl:
Apples of orange and copper fire,
Setting his five wits aswirl.
And then they will thank me, who mock me now:
“Wanting the Moon is he!”
Oh, I’m off to the mountain after the Moon,
Ere she falls from the dead fir-tree!

Mom and the Alien

Some stories i have with my mom and the computer :)

Mom sitting, writing on a word processor. Something on the expression of her face tells me that she is getting exasperated. She could not contain it no longer, she said at last, "How do you move this blink-blink?" When i looked at the screen i nearly fell over. Laughing really hard i said, "Just move the mouse!".

***

Mom typing realy slow.  I can't help thinking, "God, this feels like forever i want to die."

***

Mom with no glasses on. Lifting the keyboard up to her face. "Mom! What are you doing?" "I cant see the letters!"

***

You know what i love watching my mom doing her thing on the computer. I have this big smile on my face everytime she's into trouble. I love how she looks up to me in wonder everytime i solve her problems with the computer. It's a curious thing for her and she is learning really fast! And not only that, she has a Facebook account too!

How to watch videos on YouTube

Because I'm a huge YouTube fan, I'm sharing with you things I've learned while watching videos.

1. When first watching a video, do not scroll down and look at comments. It will influence your experience on how you will look at the ideas being presented.
2. If you don't like it by all means stop
3. Pause for a while if some scenes makes you think. Think if you want.
4. Enjoy the flow
5. Process what you have watched and enjoy a moment of it for yourself and then now you can look at the comments. I have no tolerance on people arguing on certain videos. If you like it, you like it, if you don't, you don't. Yes you can discuss but really, don't argue.
6. Everything presented doesn't have to be necessarily true. Welcome new ideas and let go of those that are crap.
7. Do not be afraid to broadcast yourself if you have a message to give to the whole world or if you simply want to entertain. Enjoy!

P.S. I highly recommend TED videos!
And also one tip. If you are experiencing slow internet connection and your videos on YouTube keep buffering then i highly recommend that you try http://www.youtube.com/feather_beta. Just click the link and it will take you to the beta page and click join. Then viola! The videos are much much faster in there compared to the regular youtube page.

Thank you

People come to me for comfort, for advice, or for anything that needs praying. I dont know why. But i am glad they do. It is heavy i know, but if it's the only way to feel human then i accept it gladly. But i have no one to tell my pains, my sufferings, the things i think to over and over again. I have no one to share it to. But God has been so kind and graced me with friends who understand. Somehow with the things they do in life i am inspired to hope again. To be better again. To live life again. To Yadz and Grace... thank you. You have no idea how much i have been comforted by you. May God bless you more and more.

Her Story to tell

I asked her if she can see herself being married
She said she doesn't feel being loved
Or if any would try to
I told her,
If you’re not going to love yourself,
Nobody else will
She cried
She told me she gets emotional
Having had no sleep at all
I told her i understand
She talked about love and sacrifice
And freedom
She dreams of flying but her wings are clipped
Her family clipped it she said
I said why not let loose?
She said, she can’t,
She will only hurt herself in the process
Love like that is ages old
As I am listening,
I felt  i haven't lived at all
But I said,
I understand.

This poem is for my friend. Thank you for sharing your story with me. You know, you can never tell what love may bring.  =)

On humility

There is a kind of humility that melts your heart and a certain kind that makes you uneasy. The uneasy part is where people keep on stressing the things lacking in their lives. Things that i don't have, things that i should have or things my home should have but don't have. My heart bleeds for this kind of humility. Relax, people are not going to judge you. (And if they do, and they often do; especially if they are not your friends- Just remind yourself that this is your life and what they think don't matter) I just want you to appreciate what you have. There are no pretense here. We are your friends. And i would love to see you smile and content with what you have- with who you are. Because you are and you are happy. I can see. But then you started apologizing for things lacking. And my heart went "Oh, no no." You were so happy. When did someone's presence make you so small? You are your home and you started feeling uncomfortable with your own skin. And i can see it. And I cringe at the thought of you feeling small, talking small. Didn't you know that i was envious of the things you have? Not the material things but that joy i see when you talk of the things you would do for the day, that joy you have when you talked about how the food would taste so good after your done with your cooking. That joy you have when you talked and kissed your love ones with a little twinkle in your eyes and laughter on the edges of your voice. Your love is out pouring. I envy you. Yes i do. So please stop apologizing for what you don't have. You make me so unhappy with it. Truly, you don't have to have anything or be or do anything to impress me. Just to see you content with life is enough. And i say, I don't know of anyone else who looks so content with life more than you do. So stop acting small and let me be inspired by you. For inspiration is hard to find and they are not found on people lacking confidence,  and my requirement is set so high that only those who possess contentment shall pass.
