Watercolor week6

just because i thought i can do something like this! hehehe. I thought wrong. aw. Lets see what i have done so far...

For some reason i find it hard to draw cartoons or anime's than real life subjects. I dont know why. Perhaps because they are so outlined they tend to be bold and unreal. hahaha

For the life of me i cannot bring myself to continue drawing Ponyo anymore. Oh Ponyo im so sorry. I shall return for you, but not now not today and not this week either.

So after letting a day goes by in attempting Ponyo and failed i turned my eyes to this.

yay. isnt that ambitious of me? hahahah. take a look at my take now...

I swear the picture looks so much more better than the original drawing. hehehe. But i think i did really good for my first flower. And its a rose. hahah take that! yay.The rose bud is so complicated i have spent much time studying it. Im loving how red it is! And so the painting continues...

By now i know time is not with me anymore, for it is getting late and i cant see details anymore.

So i have to stop at this point...

I dont know what to say...2 unfinished painting in a week. hehehe. But it is an art of themselves so let it be for now. Yes just letting it be.

THings im grateful for today March 29 2011

1.  I know i have not posted for so many days now. But i have been so busy. I shall post all the pictures for the reason of it this week.

 2. Our company anniversary party is finally over. And i am relieved. It was so good being a part of the logistics committee. I now more understand the meaning of  this quote: Volunteer not to build your resume but to build yourself.

3. I am being positive for the outcome of my work. and that is achievement enough. hehehe I pray that i will receive positive response from my webmasters. Abba-cakes please intervene for you are the Lord of my work and career. Thank you.

4. Today i am grateful for Evava treating me to Mcdo. A burger, a large fries, an ice cream and a coke. I was so much overwhelmed! I haven't eaten that much for a long time now. hahha i feel a lil guilty. But thank you dai Eva. God bless your generous soul.

5.Downloaded the audio book of The Practice of The Presence of God. I am deeply grateful. Thank you Lord. I know it is you. Listening to it for 2 days now. Abba-cakes thank you. Thank you so much. Never let me go. :D

My Desire

I know its a little too late but i just want to share what i want to meditate/achieve/sacrifice and do for lent. yay.

First of i want to Practice the Presence of God. I know this is some sort of like a lifetime desire and pursuit but to put it in Brother Lawrence words:

"There is not in the world a kind of life more sweet and delightful, than that of a continual conversation with God. Those only can comprehend it who practice and experience it."     ... Brother Lawrence

If you want to learn more about it you can check this site http://www.practicegodspresence.com/ . This site is what i read especially the "reflections" part every time im bored with my work.(Im online 8 hours so i get to open that site daily :p)

And the second one, i got from a buddhism site (who says we cant learn from other religions too?) try to take a look.

 I know how powerful words are. And mine is powerful (atleast that's what ive noticed). So instead of using my tongue to lash out hurtful words i will now try to undergo deep changes and try as much to control it and use it properly. I know the tongue has been compared to a rudder in a ship. It gives direction to your life. And it has been compared to fire. Yes it can burn...so deep it can even burn the soul. The tongue is one of the smallest part of the body yet the most uncontrollable of them all. I must with all my power reign it. And let my words bring healing and comfort to any soul that will get a chance to listen to me. I kow this one seems impossible to do but hey my God is the god of the impossibles! I shall now start today and live my life with the two desires i have with the help of Christ my savior .

Watercolor week5

I know it's a Sunday, and i know it's a little late but still it's week5 for my watercolor project so here it is.

 First of, let me show you my model....

let's have a much closer look...hehehehe

Today ive decided to just let anything go. I know im such a critique with my own work and a very mean one. hahaha. so today no judgment just fun.(hmmm let me rephrase that, because, well basically, when im painting i dont feel fun just inner peace.) YES deep peace... This is what i like most when im painting, im not conscious of time and i am at peace.(well at least while im painting) coz after im done its as if i turn into some kind of a monster and criticize my work. Which is really not good and helpful at all. But as Sunny said it is normal for amateur artists to be so strict on themselves weeeeeee at least i get to be called an artist and i dont mind the amateur part, because its true. :p so lets begin.

I know something is really going wrong with this one, hahahaha. Im sort of like short of space already(some kind of underestimated my subject hahaha or wrong perspective but whatever),..hehehe i don't mind at all so the painting continues...

I was finding it hard to find the right shade of green, i keep on adding another color layer after layer. hehehe. And i was lost in time i didn't even bother to take pictures of my progress...and tadang!

Im done! :p i still dont know what colors to mix for the "water" kind of color or for the color of glass either, but im certain in time i will know. hmmm what do you think of my work?

P.S. Ive decided not to copy the red ribbon anymore. and i did not copy the stones excactly, i kind of did my own stones. hehehe.

P.P.S. Ive tried to look at my past art works again and to my surprise they dont look as bad as i thought they were. Change of eyes eh? I feel good with what i have done today, i know its not that spectacular(why am i saying this? im not even aiming for something spectacular. :p ) but i feel good. and that is enough. Ruffy :D

1. If you have pets, do you see them as merely animals, or are they members of your family?

Family of course! Mostly we had fishes and dogs over the years. But sadly all of them are gone now. When the last one of our dog died(her name is Ruffy) we decided not to have one anymore. It was just painful for the whole family seeing Ruffy go.

2. If you can have a dream to come true, what would it be?

For a long time now, i only have one dream. And that is for my mom to be happy. To live the good life she desires. For her to enoy. But if i can have one now that would be for me to become an artist! yay. A watercolor painter, an actress and a story teller. And for everyone to find their purpose, passion and meaning in life early on.

3. What is the one thing most hated by you?

Hypocrisy.  

4. What would you do with a billion dollars?

Wow, if that would be possible. First of ill give tithes like 50% tithes and then the remaining 50% would be spent on cleaning our creek and rivers. The water gets really really high here when it rains hard. And when it does we cant really do anything, sometimes you get stranded in some place. I was once. Luckily we were rescued by a ten wheeler truck.(ah but that was special because i was stranded together with friends) 

5. What helps to pull you out of a bad mood?

Talking with God all out. hahaha like vent. But after that i say thank you. I breath in, exhale and say thank you.

6. Which is more blessed, loving someone or being loved by someone?

I cant really tell. I have not loved someone with all of me, well that is aside from my family and friends. I haven't fallen in love. :p Nobody has yet caught my attention. weeee

7. What is your bedtime routine? 

Depends on my work schedule. My body clock system gets to be altered every once in a while. And that is really bad. But most of the time i try to hit my pillow after 10pm.

8. If you are currently in a relationship, how did you meet your partner?

Please see number 6.

9. If you could watch a creative person in the act of the creative process, who would it be?

Myself. hahahah i want to watch me while painting watercolors. am i a creative person? hahha but seriously i want to watch me. 

10. What kinds of books do you read?

Inspirational ones. But mostly i love reading funny books. Sophie Kinsella type. Light read. 

11. Where do you see yourself in ten years time?

I can't see myself, is that so bad?

12. What’s your fear?

Fear of being afraid. You cant really live your life if you are always afraid.

13. Would you give up all junk food for the rest of your life for the opportunity to visit outer space?

YES! I certainly would gladly gave it up. Besides i don't eat junk foods much :p 

14. Would you rather be single and rich or married, but poor?

Can I be married and rich :p hahhaha quesera sera.

15. What’s the first thing you do when you wake up?

Debating with myself whether to go back to sleep or not. I tell you this one is a hard fight.

16. If you could change one thing about your spouse/partner what would it be?

Again please see number 6 :p

17. If you could pick a new name for yourself, what would it be?

Can i be Stargirl too? 

18. Would you forgive and forget no matter how horrible a thing that special someone has done?

Forgive i can, but forget  will have to take longer than forgive. This thing needs lots and lots of prayer before you can ever get comfortable again with the person. Know what i mean?

19. If you could only eat one thing for the next 6 months, what would it be? 

This question is probably the hardest. I get easily "sumhan" with foods. Gah i dont know whats the english translation of that word. But basically it means something like getting easily tired with things. weeeee got it? Variety is important to me. hahaha i cant survive with the same food to eat for six months!

A lot of things to be thankful for!

I know i have been slacking in my daily gratitude journal and that's not good. But i have been so busy. hahaha.
So okay here are all the things im grateful for for the past few days that i forgot to post.

1. Im so grateful that our tshirt design is finally done! yehey! Here it is.....

2. I am so grateful that dad has been consistent on driving us my bro and me to our respective destination everyday. yay. Thank you dy! Abba-cakes thank you for my dad! :P I love you.
3. Grateful that ive finished another book! yay! Its called The book About Everyting by Guus Kuijer its a translation of the Dutch children's novel Het boek van alle dingen. Its a beautiful book. Touching and a little funny and super cute. I will post a review soon after i will finish Three Cups of Tea.
4.Bought another book entitled Alice Mcleod Realist at Last. This one is funny in a Sophie Kinsella kind of way but of course sophie is so much more funnier. weeeeeee. Im into book hoarding again. And i just cant resist it. I need help. hahahha
4. Grateful that we SMSI went mangrove planting! yay! I enjoyed having my hands and feet dirty and also i enjoyed planting a lot! I hope what we planted will grow.
5.House Hold in Bro Antony's house. We prayed and shared all our concerns and thanksgiving. It felt good to worship our Lord with my fellow SFC. The Holy Spirit is evident in our household and i am so grateful. Lately i know the devil has been tempting me and i am so grateful that i can now detect his every temptation and every time im tempted especially in thinking bad thoughts i just say "Thank you Father" and the bad thoughts disappears. In every temptation that comes my way i just say "Thank you Father" and i am given strength to overcome it.So i am so grateful for that. I pray for the strength to overcome every temptation.  Thank you so much Abba Father! Abba-cakes thank you so much! Thank you so much so so so much!
6.I am grateful for auntie Eva! She helps a lot in cleaning our house. And it just feels so good to come in a house that is clean. Thank you Father for Auntie Eva. :P and little leoncio too.
7.Mom has been doing gardening a lot and i am happy for her. She has this beautiful orchids outside and i adore her love for plants and flowers. I hope we will have a lot of it more! :P
8.I am super grateful that i am now getting my balance on my sleeping issues. I sleep early now and i am so much more healthier than before i think. hahaha. Thank you Lord.
9. I am grateful that my devotion to the Divine Mercy is growing. Jesus has been so good. Reminding me every 3pm to pause and pray. I don't know about this and i never felt like this before but i think i am called to pray this 3oclock prayer. hmmmm. This i think is a powerful devotion against every evil. So thank you Father. My Melchizedek, my highest priest, My Jesus i trust in you.
10. I am thankful and grateful for all my friends who know me and who accept me as i am. And to those especial people whom i can just be myself and feel safe to just be silly and dance and sing without fear of being judged. Thank you Father for every single thing. I celebrate you and i lift your name on high. Thank you so much in Jesus name. Amen. hehehe Abba-cakes thank you. I love you.

Watercolor week4

Finally had time to paint with my watercolor today. yay! But before that let me tell you about the wanna be watercolor artists in the family(were curious enough to try it so i let them) :P

yay it's night already and im getting mosquito bites!

Let me show you first my model, isnt that leaf adorable? :P heart shape! We've got a lot of those in our house.wew.And if im a scientist i would certainly consider studying it as a medicine for the heart :D Well anyways,  I was thinking, i must learn something today. So i decide to point out what i want to achieve. First: To learn how to do something like a shade and shadow with the watercolor and second: To learn how to paint something glossy or smooth. Like that leaf picture above. The leaf has a lot of viens in it. So now i will lett the pictures talk..

I really dont have any idea what im doing right now. That sure looks ugly. It looks like a microscopic version of the leaf hahahaha. It is supposed to be detailed but not that way. The veins are so bold and big which are really not in real life. I was also trying to figure out how i can paint from dark green to green with a smooth transition on it..i found out one way to do it was to dip your brush to the water after painting from a dark color but you have to do it fast because it will dry up immediately. It was hard to do so. Time is of the essence when it comes to watercolor. And the water is uncontrollable. Not unlike if your using a lead pencil, i realized, because with lead pencil you can take your time and its all up to your hand pressure whether to make it light or dark and the transition is not that hard. And i wanted so bad to make it more glossy but i don't know what color to use for that. And i also have no idea what to do so i gave up. I will try it again next time because it's getting late now. So till next week then! :P

Things im grateful for today March 8 2011


1. Finally done reading Anyway: The Paradoxical Commandments. Actually i finished it two days ago. It is only now that i have posted a review on it :P So my estimate in reading it on two weeks time is perfect. wew. It's a very short read book you can actually finish it on one sitting but you know im a busy lady(weeeeee). So i am grateful today for that book :D
2. I am grateful that i started reading another book entitled Three cups of Tea by Greg Mortinson and David Oliver Relin. This one is a #1 New York Times Bestseller book and 300+ pages long so i will give myself 3 weeks for this. My book for the remaining weeks of March. Sounds fair enough right? Considering my busy schedule. (weeeeeee again)
3. Finally done and over with my t-shirt design for sitecap! yehey! Thank you Lord! yay Abba-cakes thank you so much! So Much! hahhaha. This has been going on for so long and now that it is finally over i am so happy! Not to mention i am also satisfied with my design, it is beautiful so let us celebrate! :P
4. Bought Papaya, oates, nestle milk and nova for snack. yay. Papaya truly is the best solution for idigestion :P Couldnt be more happy than that. But i am much much more happier eating together with my mom and bro for the tinolang isda my bro cooked. wew. The BEST!
5. I am so grateful for our internet connection. Done a lot of things because of it. Yay! Thank you so much Lord God! :P
6. Been such a good girl today. Washed all my undies and tshirts! yay good job to me :P
7. So grateful that Janice and Kira won the online contest. Each for different sites. yay. Everyone's getting lucky huh? Hope it will rub off on me. hahaha.  Kira libre jd ni. :P

My Take: 
The book  talks about finding meaning in a crazy world. I was amazed by how much Keith has learned from all his experience in life even at a young age and much more in awe of how he applied it.  While i was reading this book i cannot wait to share it to all of you. I was thinking like "oh-my-this-is-a-gem! a one of a kind gem". This is something worth reading. I know for sure you will learn and get something really really important that you can apply in your life from this book. I agree with him that life is not about working for yourself or your family but it is about finding meaning on what you are working for. This book reminds me much of James Allen's As a Man Thinketh where every written word on it has substance and meaning. A very inspirational short read book .
Ratings: 10/10 ; highly recommended!
